Yesterday we showed you what the most popular books of the year were at the library, today we have the most borrowed movies of the year! In general, people want to borrow films that they didn’t go see at the theater, so the major blockbusters tend to rank a bit lower on these kinds of lists than you might think, though there are a few exceptions. The amount of hype that Black Panther managed to build up meant that even though it was the highest grossing movie of the year, it still managed to rank as the number 8 most borrowed at the library. Likewise, word of mouth helped The Greatest Showman, which was no slouch at the box office, help claim the top spot overall. Historical movies with ?Oscar nominations do well too, with The Post and Darkest Hour both cracking the top 10, and for obvious reasons, library patrons were big fans of Book Club as well.
