Hot Tracks: 10/18/24

Friday = NEW MUSIC! Here’s a guide to the songs that caught my attention this week across a range of genres (but mostly pop). Enjoy!

Note: Some songs and videos may contain content that listeners / viewers could find objectionable.

ROSÉ of BLACKPINK snags a duet with Bruno Mars for her third “solo” track.

Lately there’s been a surge of wannabe Freddie Mercury’s, and I have to say that I am here for it.

JVKE’s uniquely twee, piano-laden pop continues to impress.

Stray Kids are back with a banger of a new single featuring Young Miko and Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, to promote the imminent arrival of Arcane season 2.

The latest by UK rapper Ren should prove more palatable to listeners than his last weird (but also interesting) single.

Tangerine Cassette are back with more pleasingly weird altpop.

As she continues to enlist virtually every other pop artist to guest on her Brat remix project, Kesha pops up for “Spring Breakers”. You probably know what to expect from this by now.

Rebecca Black continues she’s a far more interesting artist than “Friday” would have led anyone to believe.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor returns with more discofied dance pop that seems more than catchy enough to get Barry Keoghan to dance again.

bad tuner is back with another 90’s-influenced house banger.

This should fill any dancefloor with ease.

This string-heavy ballad by Jelly Roll and Halsey stuns and reminds me of past hits by Aerosmith and Guns N’ Roses.

Savoir Adore’s striking latest manages to both epic and intimate.

Delightfully catchy.

Mercer Henderson is just waiting for a big break, and based on this track she deserves it.

Catchy AF.

I’m always down for a little lounge house, and Polo & Pan continue to be masters of it.

Omar Rudberg’s genderbending pop jam is hard to resist.

More modern r&b perfection from Jean Dawson.

Every songwriter wants a piece of the Christmas music pie, and now it’s Conan Gray’s turn to reach for a slice. It’s pretty good though, and sounds like what you would expect from the pop songster.

Sully Burrows bursts onto the country scene with this catchy but melancholy track.
