Bay-Atlantic Symphony Returns to the Library!

We are thrilled to announce that the Bay Atlantic Symphony, under the direction of Jed Gaylin, will be bringing their “Symphony by the Sea” concert series back to the Avalon Free Public Library this Summer! “We’re delighted to bring classical music to Avalon by hosting the Bay Atlantic Symphony each summer,” said Library Director Erin Brown. “This year’s selections offer a range of music from different styles and eras – we hope there is something for everyone!”

The first concert will take place at 7pm on Sunday, July 22 and is entitled “Music and the Movies”. This sure-fire crowd-pleaser will feature a variety of symphonic works both written for and featured in hit films like “The Empire Strikes Back”, “James Bond”, “Singin’ in the Rain”, & many, many more.

At 7pm on Saturday, August 18, the orchestra returns to present “The Classical Classics”. This concert will highlight audience favorites like Mozart’s Flute Concerto and Beethoven’s immortal Fifth Symphony, and will also feature a special guest soloist.

If you’re planning to be in or around Avalon this Summer, you won’t want to miss these exciting concerts! Both shows will be performed in the Avalon Elementary School, adjacent to the library, and both will be free ticketed events. Avalon residents and property owners may pick up tickets for the July symphony concert starting on June 1, and the August Symphony concert starting July 1. Subject to availability, all other interested parties may begin picking up tickets for the July symphony concert starting Monday, July 9, and the August symphony concert starting Monday, August 6.
