During the first press briefing of the new Trump White House, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt read aloud a statement from President Donald Trump that stated, “The drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by FAA for research and various other reasons… this was not the enemy.”

Questions remain about why the FAA did not release this information sooner and why the FBI and local law enforcement appeared to be unaware of the project(s).

The drones were sighted by numerous New Jersey citizens in the Fall and prompted wild speculation as to their origins before fading from the public consciousness. The nature of their research remains undisclosed at this time.
