The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management is beginning to make updates to its Hazard Mitigation Plan and would like to get your input into which areas are the most critical for it to focus on and how you would like them to go about doing so. They have a brief survey up that they are asking Cape May County residents and property owners to fill out that is located here.
It asks questions like which kinds of hazards you’ve experienced before, such as flooding, hurricanes, or wildfires and which you are the most worried about potentially experiencing in the future. Additionally, they ask what mitigation proposals you would be in favor of them attempting and some basic demographic data.
Living in an area that is almost completely surrounded by water and which experiences a variety of weather conditions, it is vital for our local government to be as prepared as possible to assist in times of need and to do what it can to keep its residents safe. By taking a few moments to fill the survey out you are doing your part to make sure that our public servants are able to the best job they can.
