Avalon Library Awarded 5 Stars for 10th Consecutive Time

For the 10th consecutive time, the Avalon Free Public Library has received the maximum 5-star rating as ranked by the Library Journal’s Index of Public Library Service.

Rating criteria is based on circulation, library visits, program attendance and public Internet usage. Avalon was among six libraries in New Jersey to receive 5 stars, along with the Bernardsville Public Library, the Somerset County Library, the Mercer County Library, the Ocean City Free Public Library and the Princeton Public Library. A 5-star rating was awarded to only 259 libraries out of 7,409 scored within the United States. The Avalon Free Public Library is one of only 13 libraries in the country to have been awarded 5 stars all 10 editions.

The Avalon Free Public Library is open year-round and offers an extensive circulation of classic novels, best-selling and newly released books, movies, music, video games and a wide range of reference information. Along with an extensive circulation, the library offers year-round programming for all ages including technology workshops, creative writing, book clubs, crafting, story time and more.
