Acme Markets has selected the Avalon and Stone Harbor Elementary Schools as their August partner for the Give Back Where It Counts Bag Program. This means that in the Acme locations at 15 Avalon Blvd in Middle Township and 6212 Landis Ave in Sea Isle City, $1 from each purchase of a $3 Give Back Where It Counts bag sold throughout the month of August will be donated to the school district.
The program was launched in 2019 across all 159 of the store’s locations with the aim to support local nonprofits while also helping the environment in a way that makes it easy for shoppers to give back to their communities. Their Community Relations Team researches each area the stores operate in to find organizations that could benefit from the funding to keep doing amazing work in their towns, and then selects a different one each month to receive the donations.
To date the program has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for communities in Acme’s service area. Some of the other organizations that have received support so far include Peyton’s Promise, Philabundance, The Branches Outreach, and the Cape May Veterans Home Association.
