This Saturday, May 11th promises to be a busy one in Avalon! The Avalon Garden Club’s annual borough-wide yard sale will be running from 8am to 3pm, rain or shine (though as of right now, it looks like it should thankfully be a nice day). Participating households will have the official sign posted out front, and a full list can be found here: https://avalongardenclub.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Yard-Sale-list-of-Participating-Households.pdf.
If you’re in the market for a bicycle, you might want to swing by the Avalon Public Works facility on the corner of Dune Drive and 13th Street, where the Avalon Police Department will be auctioning off abandoned bicycles starting at 12 noon (advance viewing begins at 11am). The bikes are sold in as-is condition and the proceeds will benefit community public safety efforts.
And if you have any documents you need shredded, Public Works will also be holding their Spring Paper Shredding Day event at the same facility, beginning at 9am. The shredder will be available until 2pm or until it reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
Our puzzle swap will be going on from 10am to 12 noon, so if you dropped off any puzzles make sure to come by with your ticket to get new ones. And if you haven’t dropped off any used ones yet, you have until the library closes on the 10th to do so, just make sure they have all their pieces!
And PS! Don’t forget to get your bulk trash items to the curb by May 12th!
