Early Voting Begins This Weekend

If you don’t feel like waiting until Election Day (Tuesday, November 5) to cast your vote in this year’s elections you don’t have to! Beginning on Saturday, October 26 and running through Sunday, November 3, New Jersey residents will be able to drop by any of their county’s early voting locations to make their choices.

Here in Cape May County, those locations are the Lower Township Library (2600 Bayshore Rd, Villas), the Middle Township Library (30 Mechanic St, Cape May Court House), and the Upper Township Library (2050 Route 631, Petersburg). During the early voting period these locations will all be open from 10am to 8pm every day except Sunday, when they will close at 6pm. An appointment is not needed and accommodations will be made for any voters with disabilities.

No matter where you live in Cape May County you can vote at any of these 3 locations. If you registered to vote by mail, you can still change your mind and vote in-person, either early or on Election Day, but you will have to use a provisional ballot, NOT your mail-in ballot. If instead you still wish to vote by mail, make sure that you postmark your ballot or drop it in a secure ballot drop box by 8pm on November 5. More information about mail-in voting can be found at vote.nj.gov.

And of course, you are still more than welcome to head to the polls and vote on Election Day itself! In Cape May County the polls will be open that day from 6am to 8pm. You can find your polling location on the sample ballot you should have received by mail, or at vote.nj.gov.
