Football is back, but it won’t be on ALL weekend, so for the times when you aren’t watching that (or if you won’t be watching it at all), we’ve got some alternatives to help keep you entertained!

PEACEMAKER
James Gunn’s DCU continues to go places that competitor Marvel would never dare in the second season of his HBO Max show about the deeply flawed but endearingly earnest wannabe superhero Peacemaker (John Cena). This time around we’re learning more about how Gunn plans to handle the concept of a multiverse within his world while not losing the series’ focus on over-the-top violence, offbeat humor, and found family. – Sean Farrell

HAMILTON
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the hit musical’s Broadway premiere, a recording of the show is finally making its way to movie screens. Sure, it’s already available to stream on Disney+, but this production demands to be seen on a big screen with a booming stereo. – SF

HOLLOW KNIGHT: SILKSONG
The highly anticipated sequel to the 15-million-copy-selling indie game from 2017 is finally here and early reports indicate that it was worth the wait. Fans of side-scrolling Metroidvania games or just fun in general will want to give this a go as soon as they get the chance. – SF

THE 1% CLUB
This unique twist on the quiz show format sees 100 contestants vying to be among the last standing by answering a series of increasingly difficult questions posed by the snarkily comic host Joel McHale. These aren’t your usual trivia tidbits however, instead they focus on logic and reasoning. When you aren’t left utterly stumped, you’ll feel like a genius. – SF

THE PAPER
The team behind the American version of The Office returns, this time focusing on a scrappy local newspaper as a new Editor-in-Chief (Domhnall Gleeson) is brought on board and announces his intention to return it to its former glory. Ensemble comedies can take a moment to find their footing, but this seems off to a promising start and given the current state of the media in this country it couldn’t be more timely. – SF
