According to an Instagram post by the Queen May Jewelry store in Cape May, at 2:59am on May 5th they were the victim of a smash and grab robbery. The incident was captured by their security cameras and can be seen in the embedded post below, though the perpetrators are wearing masks to conceal their faces. The car the criminals used was also captured on cameras operated by the city of Cape May, but the license plate appeared to be scratched out.

The thieves made off with over $300,000 worth of vintage designer handbags and jewelry, as well as a rare Louis Vuitton trunk that visitors to the store will recognize as being a staple of their window display. All the merchandise is registered with Entrupy, a service that is used to authenticate and trace luxury goods, which should hopefully help with recovery efforts. The store is asking anyone with any information or leads to reach out to them or the Cape May Police Department.
