Fire broke out on 4th Avenue late last night, ultimately overtaking parts of a home. The house itself, number 4627, is new construction, so fortunately no one was inside at the time.

The Avalon Fire Department got the blaze under control over night, with assistance from several local stations, including Stone Harbor, Sea Isle City, Strathmere, and Cape May Court House. Due to the property being located on the waterfront, Fire Boat 13 was also called to the scene.

The fire produced so much smoke that multiple Facebook users reported smelling it as far away as Cape May Court House. There are no injuries reported and the Avalon Fire Department will continue to monitor the site for any flare ups.
