What are we excited about this weekend? Let’s find out! And let us know what you’re looking forward to in the comments!

The Running Man
Director Edgar Wright has proven to be a reliable source of stylish, entertaining movies, having gifted us with Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and more. So, I can’t help but be a little excited to see what he does with Stephen King’s novel The Running Man, about a dystopian future that sees contestants race across the world to avoid the hunters trying to kill them and prevent them from winning the cash prize in a vicious game show. – Sean Farrell

Let’s Party by Dan Pelosi
If you like the kind of dinner party with a bit of a theme but perfectly informal, plus amazing food — check out Let’s Party by Dan Pelosi. Dan (also known as @GrossyPelosi on Instagram) makes entertaining feel very doable yet special. This book is packed with appealing yet unfussy recipes, fun party ideas, and the kind of personal stories that draw so many to his social media for the connection he builds.
Each section is built around a theme and every recipe feels like something you actually want to cook. It’s food that’s meant to be shared and enjoyed. Even if you don’t have any entertaining plans in mind, it’s a delightful read! – Erin Brown

Appaloosa by Orville Peck
This EP features 7 fantastic songs from the distinctively voiced crooner. With his signature swirl of classic country, rock, and pop, Peck continues to sound like few (or possibly any) other current artists. Closer “It’s the End of the World” and a heartbreaking rendition of “Maybe This Time” from Cabaret are particular highlights. – SF

Last Samurai Standing
We sure do love stories about violent gameshows don’t we? This Netflix series promises epic samurai action and at least some of the depth and character development that propelled Squid Game to the top of the streamer’s charts. – SF

Anno 117: Pax Romana
Ubisoft sends their popular historical city building game series all the way back to the Roman empire circa 117CE. The basic formula remains the same, but the time period is a significant departure for the series and they’ve incorporated enough player-favorite features from previous entries and expansions to create what might be one of the franchise’s strongest titles. Sim and strategy players should expect to lose countless hours to this one. – SF
