The Weekly Wow List: 10/10/25

Looking for something to see, hear, or taste this weekend? We’ve got you covered with 7 solid options in this week’s Wow List!

Avalon Arts & Seafood Festival

A coastal storm may be brewing, but Saturday still looks to be a good day for some seafood! Come by Surfside Park, located at 30th Street and the beach, between the hours of 10am and 5pm to enjoy delicious bites from area restaurants (I personally recommend D’s Authentic Cheesesteaks), wares from local artisan vendors, live entertainment, kids’ crafts & activities, hayrides on the beach (ends at 3pm), and of course the popular Sound Advice Lounge featuring live streaming football and beverages. This is always a fun time so don’t let a few clouds keep you away! But of course, keep an eye on the borough’s Facebook page for any changes! – Sean Farrell

The Gift of Not Belonging: How Outsiders Thrive in a World of Joiners by Rami Kaminski, MD

Psychiatrist Rami Kaminski coined the term otrovert – kind of like a mid-point between introverts and extroverts. In short, otroverts are the type of people who enjoy getting together with small groups of people, but not a large mixer or coffee hour. But there’s so much more to it! This book explores the definition of otroverts and gives examples of their affinities and dislikes. This book will help otroverts understand the ways they think differently from others and will help non-otroverts understand the minds of their otrovert friends and family. The audiobook is only five hours long, making it perfect, quick listen! – Mary Ecklund

The Impossible Thing by Belinda Bauer

Did you know that there was once a thriving (and cruel) egg collecting craze amongst some of Britain’s elite citizenry? Well, in the early 20th century there was, and collectors could become quite obsessed with their delicate prizes. This forms the basis for this mystery that involves a delicate young girl in the 1920s and a present-day egg theft, along with a possible murder. Wistfully atmospheric and with endearingly memorable characters, this enchanting novel is more about the journey than the mystery, though both satisfy. I’ve never read Bauer before, but on the strength of this novel I might have to start. – SF

“Right on Time” by Madonna

New music is allegedly on the way later this year or early 2026, but in the meantime, Warner Records is issuing a collection of mixes and demoes from the Bedtime Stories sessions, led off by this silky smooth midtempo jam that was left off the original release.  It may be an unfinished demo but it’s still catchy enough to serve as a reminder of why she’ll always be the “queen of pop”. – SF

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

No Halloween season is complete without revisiting It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. In this classic 1966 TV special, Linus waits faithfully in the pumpkin patch for the mythical Great Pumpkin while the rest of the Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween in their own charming—and hilarious—ways. Perfect for all ages, it’s a cozy, funny, and timeless reminder of the magic (and mischief) of fall.

The world shook a bit when it went off the air due to a deal with Apple TV, but we’re here to share the ways you can watch, even without a subscription. The library offers it on DVD, so you can check it out and play it on repeat. Or – viewers can watch it on Apple TV for free on October 18 and 19 by going to the Apple+ TV page for the special, where there will be a free watch option. During the 48-hour free period, viewers can watch the special as many times as they like.
